Frequently Asked Questions
WHERE DO WE START?
To book a session or event, you'll need to select a date and contact me through the online booking form, call, or e-mail me to check availability. Once a date is set, a $100 deposit is due within one week in order to hold your date. The deposit will be applied towards your final purchase; the remainder is due on the day of your session. After I have received your deposit, I will call you for a consultation, during which we will review the details of what you are looking for, and address the steps we will take to make the most out of your session.
WHAT IS THE CONSULTATION FOR?
Phone consultations are the most efficient way to nail down the details of your session. During the consultation we will discuss goals, location options, clothing preferences, a specific meeting location, and any questions you may have. If you would like to meet with me in person, I'll gladly arrange for a meeting at a mutually convenient location. There is no charge for the consultation.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND BRING TO MY PORTRAIT SESSION?
Most importantly, be yourself and be comfortable. Bring 2-3 different outfits if you'd like, and choose ones that best represent your personality and style. Ladies: Feel free to wear heels, but make sure you also bring a pair of comfortable walking shoes because I often like to take my clients through fields and across dusty terrain. Also bring any pets, props, instruments and accessories that you'd like to incorporate into your shots.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE PHOTO SESSION?
On the day of your session, I will meet you at a designated location which will be discussed during the consultation. If necessary, I can help you decide which outfits work best with the surroundings. Generally, a portrait session will last one hour or less. I shoot in a deliberate, fast-paced but very relaxed style. I want to make sure you are always comfortable while looking your best, and I strive to make my sessions highly interactive and a lot of fun.
WILL YOU RESCHEDULE FOR BAD WEATHER?
Absolutely. Usually when I am setting up a session, I like to schedule a rain/weather date as a backup in case Mother Nature does not cooperate on the original day of the session.
DO YOU OFFER IN-STUDIO PORTRAITS?
Yes! I have a wide array of lighting, backdrops, props and materials. Portrait sessions can take place either at my studio or at the location of your choice. While I prefer to shoot outdoors at a mutually agreed upon location or at a client's home or office, there is always the studio for an indoor option if the need arises, such as in the case of bad weather.
WHAT HAPPENS WITH PROOFING AND ORDERING?
Approximately 3-5 days after your session, all edited images will be posted online to a hosting gallery for viewing and ordering. You may purchase a portable drive of all of the high-resolution images.
CAN I USE MY PHOTOS ON FACEBOOK AND/OR OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA SITES?
Upon completion of your photo project, you are free to use any images you would like. However, any alteration of the images is a violation of Federal Copyright Law.
CAN I MAKE MY OWN REPRINTS?
You may order prints through the online gallery or by using your image files at a preferred printer. However, any alteration of the images is a violation of Federal Copyright Law.
DO YOU OFFER DIGITAL PHOTO RETOUCHING?
Yes. While all images are edited in general upon my review, I offer additional retouching services at an additional cost. Rates vary depending on the extent of the correction and the size of the area that is affected. Retouching quotes are provided on a case basis.
